Sprayer filling column
The filling column ensures safety and compliance with regulations during the sprayer filling phase, particularly with regard to non-return (gallows and non-return valve) and overflow (volumetric pump) requirements.
It also provides greater comfort for the operator during filling, saves time (filling rates are often high) and optimises the volume of water sent to the sprayer tank.

Filling the sprayer: some specific adjustments to be made
The purpose of the filling station is twofold:- To protect the water supply network by using a means that under no circumstances allows filling water from the sprayer tank to be returned to the water supply circuit. There are various simple solutions: filling from an intermediate water tank, a device preventing the hose from dipping directly into the spray liquid (gallows), a non-return valve adapted to the water inlet.
- Avoid any risk of the tank overflowing, or recovery and collection of any phytosanitary effluents. To achieve this, the operator must be systematically supervised during the filling phase. For added safety, he can also install an anti-overflow device: a volumetric pump with automatic shut-off or an intermediate filling water tank with a volume of water smaller than that of the sprayer tank. This second point also saves time when filling the tank. Finally, to avoid any risk of accidental spillage during this preparation phase, it is best to provide a watertight filling area with a specific collection system for accidental phytosanitary effluents.
Good design of access to the spray tank will limit the risks during filling. It is essential to
provide access to the sprayer filling hole from the platform. Devices such as product incorporators or preparation tanks may be necessary if access is difficult.
For canister rinsing, there are canister rinsing devices to facilitate this stage.
