Sail and protective cover

Anti-frost sails and anti-hail nets are essential tools for protecting vineyards from the vagaries of the weather. The sails retain heat to prevent radiative frosts, while the nets absorb the impact of hailstones while preserving growing conditions.
Easy to use, these devices offer effective, long-lasting protection against weather hazards.

Anti-freeze sails

These devices, made from insulating and breathable materials, are deployed directly on the vines or stretched over the rows to limit exposure to the cold. They create a thermal barrier that retains heat from the ground and prevents critical temperatures from dropping around the buds. Suitable for small and medium-sized plots, these sails are lightweight, reusable and easy to install, providing ideal passive protection for vineyards prone to spring frosts.

This type of protection provides protection against radiant frost and is wind-resistant thanks to its attachment system. The veil is depreciable for 10 years. It can only be used on plots outside the AOC or in AOCs that have approved this process in their specifications.

Anti-hail netting

Vertical hail nets, authorised by the INAO since 2015, are devices installed along the rows of vines to protect vines and grapes from the impact of hail. Mounted on poles and stretched between them, these nets form a vertical barrier that absorbs the energy of the hailstones while letting in the air and light needed for the vines to grow.
They are designed to provide effective protection for vines without altering growing conditions, in line with the requirements of the Appellations d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC). They are particularly well suited to regions with a high risk of hail, providing long-lasting protection that complies with winegrowing standards.
