Robot and autonomous inter-row tractor

There are two main models in this category of autonomous inter-row robots: The different types of robots used in winegrowing
- The compact, autonomous robot
- The inter-row tractor
The compact autonomous robot
As its name suggests, it is smaller than an inter-row tractor, compact, autonomous and equipped with wheels or tracks. Some are also equipped with a 3-point linkage, making them more versatile (for the moment) than a stand-alone straddle tractor.

The autonomous inter-row tractor
Fewer in number than robots, they are similar in size to internal combustion tractors, but weigh less. Some models have the option of being autonomous and/or assisted by a driver. Fitted with a 3-point linkage, they can be used in the same way as a conventional internal combustion tractor.

What are their possibilities?
Most of these autonomous models are capable of carrying out a variety of tasks in the vineyard:
- Mowing
- Spraying
- Inter-row or intercep tillage
- Image analysis using sensors
The advantages of autonomous inter-row robotsare that they have excellent traction while minimising soil compaction thanks to their small size and their tracks, so they can operate in sloping and uneven plots. Because they take up very little space and are inter-row, these tools do not cause any damage to the vines or the trellising.
